Andy Milne collaborates with vocalist La Tanya Hall, bassist Noah Garabedian and drummer David Jimenez in a celebration of the life of Sarah Vaughan. Hall, who has been a distinguished support to artists as varied as Harry Belafonte to Steely Dan, is an ideal vocalist to celebrate this icon of American Music. Together they chronicle Sarah Vaughan’s unique path that touched everything from Pop & Jazz to Bossa Nova and Opera. La Tanya Hall’s rich vocal range and dynamic stage presence make her uniquely qualified to commemorate the “Sublime Sarah”. Hall and Milne have been performing increasingly throughout the US and are currently preparing a new recording.
The first set will consist of a concert performance of “To Sarah, with Love”-A Celebration Of the life & music of Sarah Vaughn, one of the all time great female vocalists of American jazz & popular standards.
This critically acclaimed performance, which has thrilled audiences nationally, will be followed by a set of vocal & instrumental jazz & cabaret standards.
This rare musical combination event is presented by The Freeport Community Concert Association
La Tanya Hall rejoins fellow DANETTES, Catherine Russell & Carolyn Leonhart for STEELY DAN’s “The Summer of Living Dangerously” national tour which kicks off on May 10th in Charlotte NC and continues on to dozens of other cities, winding up with a 2week residency at The Beacon Theater in NYC in mid October.
